Ayer, por la noche, fue la nonagésima cuarta entrega de los premios de la Academia, en la que «CODA» ganó el premio a la mejor película. Sin embargo, este avance histórico del servicio de streaming Apple TV+ en los Oscar se vio opacado por un espontáneo acto del actor Will Smith, quién protagonizó un momento viral que será recordado y del que se hablará durante años.
El intercambio más memorable de la noche más importante de la industria del cine fue de alguien que nadie hubiera anticipado; pues Smith se encolerizó por un comentario fuera de lugar del presentador Chris Rock hacia su esposa, Jada Pinkett Smith, en el que trató de «hacer reír al público» burlándose de la condición de salud de Jada.
Ante esto, el actor, quién momentos después ganaría un Oscar por su interpretación en «King Richard», subió al escenario y pareció golpear a Rock en la cara, quién se mostró genuinamente atónito al recibir dicho golpe. Luego de este viral «momento», el actor Will Smith regresó a su asiento gritando palabras que fueron silenciadas en la transmisión en vivo.
Smith justificó sus acciones alegando que lo único que hizo fue defender a su esposa. En este contexto, el presidente de la República de El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, hizo una comparación con la mencionada acción.
«Soldado salvadoreño > Will Smith», escribió el mandatario salvadoreño, haciendo referencia a la acción tomada por el actor estadounidense y comparándola con la defensa, al honorable pueblo salvadoreño, que los soldados de la Fuerza Armada han hecho. Tal como el vídeo que también se viralizó en las redes sociales, en el que se ve cómo unos valientes soldados «ponen en su lugar» a dos delincuentes.
El Gobierno no se ha quedado con los brazos cruzados ante el incremento de la violencia y ha estado realizando todos los esfuerzos necesarios para salvaguardar la vida del pueblo salvadoreño, tal como la aprobación y sanción del régimen de excepción, el cual permite afrontar las graves perturbaciones al orden público.
Siguiendo con la entrega de premios de la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas, el otro gran ganador de la noche fue «Dune». Dominando las categorías técnicas, obtuvo seis premios Oscar por sonido, edición de películas, diseño de producción, cinematografía, efectos visuales y mejor partitura original, compuesta por Hans Zimmer (la cual fue la primera victoria del gran compositor en casi 30 años y en una docena de nominaciones).
También, «Encanto» de Disney fue galardonada como mejor película animada. Aunque la película se desempeñó razonablemente bien en los cines, esta (y su música) pareció captar particularmente la atención después de hacer su debut en el servicio de transmisión del estudio: Disney+.
