El Gobierno del Presidente Nayib Bukele, a través del Ministro de Hacienda, Alejandro Zelaya, presentó este miércoles, ante la Asamblea Legislativa, una iniciativa de ley que busca que las personas ya no tengan dos documentos sino uno solo, dejando atrás el NIT y siendo el número de DUI su nuevo número de identificación tributaria, reduciendo costos para la población salvadoreña.
«El Número de Identificación Tributaria (NIT) a partir de que entre en vigencia este decreto va a ser el mismo número del DUI», expresó el ministro. Asimismo, mencionó que la iniciativa abre la posibilidad de homologar también el número de la licencia de conducir.
Mediante este decreto, se está reduciendo la tramitología en nuestro país; la unificación del DUI y NIT es solo el primer paso para garantizar la identidad de las personas a través de un solo Número Único de Identidad. «Esta unificación solo es un pequeño avance de toda la Modernización del Estado Salvadoreño que hemos venido preparando», mencionó Fabrizio Mena, subsecretario de Innovación.
A las empresas se les emitirá el número de NIT en el CNR o en la entidad competente (en el caso de las asociaciones u organizaciones sin fines de lucro). Además, se propuso la emisión digital del NIT, el cual se podrá andar en el teléfono y que facilitará todo tipo de trámites.
